II. Working Principle

Based on the Seebeck effect, hundreds of thermocouples are connected in series to receive the infrared radiation from the target (8–14 μm), and the temperature difference is converted into a voltage output; an internal NTC is used for environmental temperature compensation to achieve non-contact, static/dynamic temperature measurement (different from pyroelectric which only measures dynamic changes).

III. Main Applications

Medical temperature measurement: forehead thermometers, ear thermometers (high-precision for human body 32–42°C)

Home appliance control: range hoods (high-temperature start on stove top), air conditioners, microwave ovens, stove temperature monitoring

Industrial temperature measurement: non-contact temperature measurement in production lines, equipment overheat protection

Human presence detection: intelligent lighting, security, automatic doors (static human body can also be detected)
